How Manifestation box helped me

How My Beach Manifestation Box Took Me to San Diego 🌴✨

Some people collect memories.

I decided to create them — one seashell, one wish, one dream at a time. 💖

This is the story of how a small Manifestation Box, filled with ocean magic,

turned into the most unforgettable family vacation I didn’t even plan.

🌸 The Day I Made My Manifestation Box

It was one of those calm weekends where I wanted to bring a little magic into my space.

I’d read about a “Manifestation Box” — a place where you store written wishes,

and let the Universe handle the how.

So, I found a small wooden box, wiped off the dust, and turned it into my dream container.

I placed it near my window, added a soft candle glow, and whispered,

“Let this box hold my sunshine dreams.” ☀️

🐚 Turning It Into My Beach Box

I wanted my box to feel like the sea — calm, warm, full of life.

So I decorated it with:

🌊 Sea shells I’d collected long ago.

📸 Printed beach photos that made my heart flutter.

🍶 A tiny glass bottle with real sand.

🌺 Rose petals and a small starfish charm.

💌 A handwritten note on the lid: “Wishes come true here.”

When I looked at it, it truly felt like a mini beach in a box — my own slice of serenity.

💌 My Written Wishes

Inside, I placed folded notes — not just “travel goals,” but feelings I wanted to live.

“Walk barefoot on the sand.” 🩴 “Hear the waves and laugh with my family.” 🌊 “Watch the sunset with peace in my heart.” 🌅 “Feel joy so deep, it echoes like the sea.” 💖

Each note went in with gratitude and trust.

Then I closed the lid and let it be.

🌈 The Universe’s Little Twist

Weeks passed. I got busy. The box quietly sat on my shelf, doing its invisible magic.

Then one evening, my husband walked in and said casually,

“Hey, I just realized I have a travel air card that expires this year. We need to use it soon!”

My eyes lit up. I said,

“Let’s go somewhere sunny — somewhere with sand!”

Within two days, we’d booked a family vacation to San Diego. ☀️🌴

It felt spontaneous, unexpected… and somehow perfectly aligned.

🛫 [Picture idea: Family suitcases + boarding passes + a seashell keychain]

🏖️ The Dream Turned Real

When I finally stood at La Jolla beach —

waves curling at my feet, wind in my hair, my family laughing nearby —

I had this quiet moment of awe.

It was everything I’d written in that little box.

Every feeling, every image — all there, alive.

And the best part?

I hadn’t chased it.

The opportunity found me, through something as ordinary as a travel card deadline.

🐚 [Picture idea: Sand footprints + ocean foam + sun glow]

🌺 What I Learned

The Manifestation Box isn’t about control — it’s about clarity and trust.

When you pour your joy into those little slips of paper,

you start aligning your life with those feelings.

It’s not wishful thinking.

It’s energetic readiness.

The Universe always finds the most unexpected, delightful route —

even if it’s through your hubby’s “use-it-or-lose-it” travel perk! 😄✈️

🌙 Create Your Own Manifestation Box

✨ 1. Choose a box that feels special.

🐚 2. Decorate it with things that remind you of your dream (shells, sand, photos, feathers).

💌 3. Write your wishes focusing on emotions, not just outcomes.

🕯️ 4. Add gratitude and close the lid.

🌸 5. Forget about it — let the magic do its work.

🌴 Final Reflection

Now, my little beach box sits on my dresser — still filled with shells and sunshine.

Every time I see it, I smile, because I know:

that tiny box made my wish touch the waves of San Diego. 🌊

And if one dream could come true so beautifully…

what else is quietly on its way? 💫

Too bored

Recently I hate my routine life. The only things that I have been doing are eat, sleep , cook , laundry, washing vessels. May be I might feel better if I go to some nice park. It would be great to go to temples and see crowd once in a while. Also I am missing having friends. I have very little friends and most of them have their own social life. Hence I am in look out for a like minded friend who has no other social circle.

The other reason I have been feeling so is my overweight due to which I have health issues and have not been able to wear nice dresses. I aim to correct it this year. Lets see how it goes.

There are lot of ways in which I can correct myself

  1. Log my eating habits and follow balanced meal
  2. Correct my sugar levels by reducing rice intake
  3. Do strength training 4 days a week to improve health
  4. Go for walk for atlease half an hour everyday
  5. Go to temple once a week to feel the divine connection
  6. Go for mom daughter date once in two weeks
  7. Go for lunch with friends once a week
  8. Go for nature sight seeing
  9. Go for trip once in 6 months
  10. Do manifestation and enjoy when it happens
  11. Take care of your health by taking vitamins
  12. Do self care for looking beautiful
  13. Have a productive day by having check out lists
  14. Organize your house
  15. Decor your house

The cookbook that got me so excited

After my kid was born I took a break from my work life and started my journey to U SA. All I had was a small apartment and a kid and few vessels and a suitcase full of clothes. Ofcourse I had a laptop and I was watching my first ever show in life which was friends.

Since I did not have any other hobby , I turned my daily chore in to a hobby. I created a mission to find 100 best recipes and the quest helped me try numerous recipes. I tried azhagar koil dosa , chettinad dishes, paratha. Failed in many but the journey was so exciting because each day morning I was looking out for new recipes.

I was so eagerly buying groceries as the recipes were so new and I had to go through my list carefully so that the recipe turns perfect. I am missing those days where my only tension is to figure out if that recipe got into that cookbook which I was personally curating. I event dreamt of publishing the book one day

Journey of breastfeeding

When I grew up , I have seen all babies drink milk from their mother . So I had thought that it is very natural for mothers to give milk . After delivery , since I had a c section my baby did not latch from me . I tried and tried for several days and I could see was my baby crying her lungs out and all elders criticizing me and my breast for not producing milk

I tried pumping and i just got few drops of milk each time. Baby was crying many nights and I was stressed as so many guests were at house and house was too chaotic . Atlast one day i said enough is enough . Out of the stress that elders created in name of rituals , even the drop of milk flowing stopped. I felt like I failed as a mother

I started feeling very frustrated about it . However one day a simple thought came to my mind . May be it was meant to be so . May be i should give up as I have tried my best and my heart knew that . So with that in mind , I started forgiving myself and started giving formula milk for my baby

For several months after that too , whenever I saw a baby drinking milk from mother , my heart ached that my baby missed getting that nutrition . I used to get furious thinking about people who gave me stress . Today I have overcome that feeling after several years but I wish that all elders to give stressfree environment to new mothers and be kind enough to new mothers and treat them well

Thanksgiving Holidays

Hurray !!! Thanksgiving holidays have started . I am so excited to celebrate my holidays with my daughter. She has got flu and my actual plans might change a bit as she is unwell . However I am determined to use this time to increase our mother daughter bonding .Today we are going to start the holidays by gifting each other . I am so excited because , I have never spent time to give gifts for her . I just order( in amazon) whatever she wants and don’t spend time to do any cards. ( I will write more about our gifts in the next post . Watch for it !!!)

Saturday started amazing by hearing my favorite songs . I enjoyed the recent tamil song Ranjithame Ranjithame. Also we are planning to start practicing dance for my friend’s wedding. Anything to escape regular chores is awesome ( especially girls time with my girlfriends).

The best moments of life is around these holidays where we get time to spend to the things we like. For instance , blogging -I could not do blogging as I was too busy with too many things. Now is the perfect time to start blogging. Here after you all can expect a lot of posts from me. Mostly it will be all about the fun times in the past and the present. ” The present ” is really the actually present given to us by god everyday. Let us live our life to the fullest by doing things that we really love and that really matters to us.

Top 2 things to do this summer

1. Doing Diy decor :

I want to go lot of decor for my house and when I check out prices , it feels like I can try some really good diy high end decor from my favourite channel which I have been trying for several weeks

2 . Trying out a new hobby

Since 2 years I have been trying new hobbies like dancing , playing piano , writing oems , art work , decorating house etc . I want to learn swimming , sewing , crocheting etc. Summer is the best time to start these kind of hobbies

Need to feel better? Take up this challenge

It is always better to fill ourselves with very positive thoughts so that negative thoughts do not enter our mind in any way . In 2018, I was part of a group called Magical Learning group . The group members need to pick up 20 new things to try ( for a quarter ) and finish all 20 before the quarter ends . If we do not complete, we would be eliminated from the group. I explored lots of stuff by being a part of it. I learnt calligraphy , tried out writing poem , learnt worli art etc .

It was such a nice experience. Usually we would feel lazy to try out many things . But being a part of the group , made it very easy to accomplish everything in a short time. Ladies in the group used to post photo of all that they learnt and it was so nice to see so many new talents and it gave so much insight into the talents and activities that  we can newly learn.

I tried doing this in my own way last year. I tried out dancing and choreographing few songs . I wrote lot of poems. I tried doing lot of canvas art . I tried many new air frier recipes. Last year was a year of learning and trying out new things. Riding bike was one of them .  I also tried different forms of excerise like steps , Zumba , classical dance etc and reduced 10 kgs while having so much fun .

Best memories of a 90’s kid

90’s kid have something special . They have seen both world – world with internet and world without internet . I had access to computer and internet  only after I turned 19. I had very limited access to internet during my college days and those days , we used books to learn . So we have seen both the world . I would definitely say that the world without much technology was so amazing.

The best memories I would say is renting bicycles along with cousins. It would to be 1 Rs per hour . 3 of my cousins would goin me and we used to ride the neighborhood for 1 hour and enjoy riding . These days , each has a bike and kids don’t feel value for it as it is with them all the time . In our case , we used to get rare chance to rent bike and ride and so , it was so exciting for us .

I used to go to my hometown Madurai for each summer and my uncle’s house was nearby The famous Meenakshi Amman temple . Lots of local food vendors used to pass by my uncle’s house. As soon as I wake , my mom would give me money to buy food that people sell in the streets. We used to eat very special food items – called kandhulo , bangara paan bhairi , pori , thori kes mittai , udith etc . Full day we used to sit outside and one by one , the vendors would pass by and we would run behind them and relish all these.

The next memory is about playing cricket in terrace. The terrace was not much big space . But we used to have sooo much fun while playing cricket there . Also playing ludo with  my cousins , aunts was unforgettable. We used to play for hours and each game was so enjoyable as my brother used to joke a lot .

The best part of my childhood was watching doordharshan . Since , they had very limited programs , we used to wait for Friday evenings for Oliyum Oliyum to listen to songs and also used to wait for Pepsi ungal choice.

My aunt used to live next door and they used to take shower from the water that overflows from the tank ( like in waterfall ) . My mom would not allow me. But it was so much of fun watching them enjoy. Those days , our neighbors were like family to us.

I don’t think kids these days enjoy as much as we did . We did not have iPads, laptops , Netflix etc . But we played real games and had real friends . These days everything is virtual and kids prefer to spend more time on TV and video games than enjoy with other kids .

1 sentence that can change your entire life

Recently I discovered the one sentence that can change our entire life. It can take away all the worries from mind. That one sentence has the healing power to cure anxiety issues. It is so powerful that I can make us feel younger, make us feel very light and make us feel like a kid.

Without much suspense, let me tell that one – let go . Yes , it has only 2 words. We might be holding on to so many things – worries that bother us much , expectations that ruin our relationships , negative people that drain our energy , criticizing people who make us feel less worthy etc. Let we have to let go of everything . Take things very light .

To make the process , just imaging tieing up whatever we hold in mind inside a helium balloon and let it go . Let things go away from us. When we take things easy , life will be very simple . Let go off the expectations on spouse . Let go of the worries that has been bothering . Let go of the things that drain our soul.

Whenever I feel little unhappy and worried , I ask myself this question . Do I need to hold on to that or let go . After thinking for 2 mins , most of the times – the answer would be to let go and to start each day with a happy mind set. Each day we have 2 choice – to let go and feel free or to hold on it tight and suffer. The choice would be ours.

Top 10 me time Activities

Me time is most important for all moms . Because when we have toddlers, our whole day goes with making them eat , taking care of them . We moms feel so overwhelmed that having a 5 min silent time without any disturbance feels like heaven .

So here are the top 10 to Me time fun according to me

  1. Read a magazine

Magazines are great stress busters . Though we read the same content again and again , it gives a great feel good moments . It creates a sense of calmness in mind when we feel a well written content . I have spent hours and hours reading magazines when I was in hostel in Bangalore and during all of train journey , I would finish 1 or 2 magazines .

2. Enjoy Having Tea

Having a cup of hot tea sitting in the patio while watching people is a very heavenly feeling . In India , we have this habit having vada, bajji , Marie biscuits while having tea and the combo is enough to bring out the good mood in us . The aroma of Indian chai ( especially ginger chai) – I feel that – nothing can beat it .

3. Doing makeup

There is something great about cosmetics. I started trying out makeup from 2018. Of all the makeups I love up the eye makeup . There are 100 s of YouTube videos to follow. Having a good eye palette and trying out the different types of eye shadow gives great joy. I also love to try different shades of lipsticks and different hairstyles.

4. Making list

One of my favorite time pass is preparing list – list of places to visit to visit , list of things to do , list of recipes to try out, list of art work, list of recent favorite songs , list of dance songs etc . All I need is a pen and a nice notebook and I can spend hours writing lists happily

5. Dance

I started dancing since last year . I love to dance for Bollywood songs and Telugu or Tamil kuthu songs . Sometimes when I wake up early in the weekend , I play loud music and dance to my heart’s content. It feels so good to dance and sometimes I record it to watch that later. Sometimes I challenge myself to choreograph 10 songs within a week and spend most of time finding new steps .

6. Puzzle solving

I am not very good at joining puzzles but I love doing easy ones. Mind feels very light and focused while joining the puzzle pieces and I feel very happy to see the finished puzzle . So whenever I go to Target or Walmart , I buy a puzzle and wait for weekend to do it

7. Draping saree

Draping saree is one of my favorite timeless . Finding matching bangles and earrings is another lovely thing. I have around 20 sarees here and whenever I get free time , I just wear them though there is no occasion to celebrate.

8. Blogging

I discovered my passion for blogging when I was pregnant. I used to read 100 s of blogs and used to get inspired a lot . It was my long term wish to have a domain and keep blogging. Finally this year I could do that. When my kid was small, I created a blog and put in every single detail of hers into that. But later decided to keep it private as I wanted to cherish that personally . Blogging is my passion and it will always be my passion

9. Do it yourself spa

I used to go for facial every month while I was in India . Here in USA , I started researching about how to do it by myself and I do facial based on what I research. Mostly I would spend about half a day for this.

10 . Art work

I love doing art work . Mostly I do sketches or canvas . I love to experiment different different types of art like Abstract, Madhubani, worli etc. Youtube is the best teacher and I love the time I spend on art work . It is so relaxing and the only thought that goes in mind is how to make it better and if coloring , what color combination to use for the art. I have seen my friends criticizing my art work . But I feel that art work is like meditation. It is not done like a competition where you need to compare to other’s work and comment . It is about the happiness we feel while doing it and that is the best part of it

If you have some me time activities which you love to do , please do mention in comments

Best gift from my kid

gift

As Mother’s Day is approaching, my kid has been creating cards for me and she has kept It secretly( so that she can gift those cards on the special day). I could not control my curiosity to see the cards that she created for me. So after she fell asleep , I quickly peeked at that secret cards. When I saw this particular card , I had tears rolling out of my eyes.

I don’t spend much time with her as I am busy with office work and I don’t have time to help her with her school assignments. She does all the school assignments by herself . Also we don’t play any board games. And I don’t cook anything special for her. Inspite of all these, she loves me a lot and keeps telling me that I am the best mom. She is so supportive and so caring and empathetic. She is just opposite to my husband though she looks a lot like him.

I think this is the best award I have received in my life. Nothing can be equivalent to this.

Throw back of – Things I enjoyed in the week

Things i enjoyed this week
1. went for boat party on Sunday . not so good like last year .. but it was better than sitting at home and best thing was not cooking for the potluck
2. Saw Alex in wonderland and sa Aravind stand up comedy .the later was better than wonderland. was laughing out load for few jokes like how NRIs should carry water bottle where ever they go
3. got lot of craft items in Walmart for school project . excited to do that this weekend though i have no idea on how I will be doing it
4. checked out the stuff for princess room this week . have a mini idea on what to do about it . I really want to do it before she turns too  big

Little things that I enjoyed in California trip

Little things i enjoyed in the trip

I think it is best decision to not take tablet for the trip. Though i was checking mobile few times ,over all i reduced watching mobile and had real talks with kid. I feel after smart phones ve come time is running too fast as we lose all the moments to smart phones . I have tried reducing but not able to. This trip I felt much better for reading much in phone

Kis was throwing many tantrums – she sang “court yard court yard neeya” for believer song and when I laughed, she cried for almost half day for that . Also she cried the last 2 days as she wanted to drag the suitcase herself and it was too heavy for her to push . Tears were rolling down her eyes for many hours and I liked myself for being cool for all the tantrums and just smiled seeing the tantrums .
Few other of her tantrums were – she wanted to play in sand but did not want to get dirty . so was crying all the time . also in Disney few times she was crying for balloon and other stuff but anyway I did enjoy her tantrums and even enjoyed watching it silently

Loved the Hollywood rides . did not expect it to be too good. i had some idea on how the Disney rides would be as i had watched in videos.
but I literally had no idea on how the Hollywood rides would be as I had no clue. Going without seeing the videos was the best thing as there was a surprise element in each of the rides. otherwise it would have not been so interesting if i had watched the videos earlier

I did not expect la jolla to be too good had minimum expectations about the beaches but first time i saw the best colored beaches..

enjoyed the talks of kid .she was funny many a times – like she told to a kid – i gave my sand toys to a kid in Austin and he took it and ran away. so please give me back my toy when you leave. it felt awkward as she was telling this to his mom but anyways , was fun to watch.

Food was the only disappointment in the trip. somehow started hating tacos and other Mexican food though in Austin i like them .. anyways , liked the fact that i did not cook for all of days and a big break from cooking .. though I used to love cooking , I am bored now I am always cooking the same recipes all of the time . need to figure out new recipes and do them

Things I enjoyed in the week

  • My daughter says in a sweet voice , very sweet voice ‘ mamma I love u ‘ at night daily . Hugs me and kisses me and i am enjoying it so much . I want to record it as I don’t know how many days she will do it
  • Did photoshoot for my daughter last week .After she was born , I always wanted to do a photoshoot but never did it . Now her hair is long and i like it open hair with some band . I put on 4 different dresses and clicked hell lot of pictures of her. Enjoyed taking her photos and she posed like a model with so much creativity
  • Watched 3.0 in theater . Movie was little disappointing to me though they had done so much of work , I felt they missed working on story as the story had no twists and turns and nothing interesting . All scenes were predictable. Strangely I enjoyed pyaar prema kadhal more than this movie . Thought that movie was also predictable and not so interesting , I just loved watching it don’t know for what reason
  •  Started using my fitbit . Though I targeted 10 k steps , I could not continue it due to some reasons . There is a relax option in fitbit where we need to inhale and exhale as per instructions. Tried it and it really makes mind calm.
